How AI Boat Buddy uses cookies, what they track, and how to control them. This policy applies to aiboatbuddy.com and our broker dashboard at api.aiboatbuddy.com.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website you visit. Cookies allow the site to recognize your device and store information about your visit, such as your preferences, login state, or items in a shopping cart. Some cookies are strictly necessary; others are optional and require your consent under EU law.

Cookies we use

We use a minimal set of cookies, all under our direct control:

  • Strictly necessary: aibb_session — keeps you logged into the broker dashboard for 30 days. Set when you click a magic-link login. HTTP-only, secure, same-site lax. Without this cookie, the dashboard cannot function.
  • WooCommerce functional: cart state, checkout flow, and login session for the boat report shop. Set automatically when you add items to cart. Expires when you close your browser or after 30 days.
  • WordPress functional: standard WordPress cookies for site administration, comment forms, and basic functionality.

What we do NOT use

We do not use third-party marketing trackers, advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, behavioral profiling, or session replay tools. We do not send your data to Google Analytics, Facebook, or any other advertising network. The only analytics we run are basic server-side request logs (page views, no third-party trackers), used purely to monitor server health.

How to control cookies

All major browsers let you control cookies through their settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies

You can clear all cookies at any time. If you clear the aibb_session cookie, you will be logged out of the broker dashboard and need to request a new magic-link login.

Changes to this policy
