Suzuki DF15 Water Pump Impeller Replacement

Tools Needed

• Screwdriver (to undo bolts)
• Lithium grease

Safety

• Do not touch the bottom nut as it aligns the gears.
• Ensure the impeller is properly seated to avoid engine overheating.

Steps

1. Mount the Suzuki DF-20 motor on a stand.
2. Undo the bolts at the bottom of the motor to drop off the lower section.
3. Remove the water pump shaft and check the water pump inside.
4. Undo the four bolts on the cover and slide it up to access the impeller.
5. Remove the old impeller, ensuring not to lose any parts.
6. Clean the plate and make sure there is no debris.
7. Apply lithium grease to the new impeller and plate.
8. Align the impeller keyway with the shaft keyway and pop it onto the shaft.
9. Replace the housing by pushing it on and securing the bolts.
10. Insert the shaft back into the engine, lining up the splines.
11. Replace the dowels, pins, and the bottom bolt.
12. Tighten the bottom nut to align the gears properly.

• It is important to change the impeller regularly due to rubber deterioration.
• Using lithium grease makes future disassembly easier.
