Suzuki DF175 Oil & Filter Change

Tools Needed

• Oil drain pan
• New engine oil drain plug gasket
• New oil filter
• Funnel
• XStar Suzuki marine engine oil
• Special tool for oil filter removal (if necessary)

Safety

• Ensure the motor is positioned vertically before starting.
• Allow the engine oil to drain completely to avoid spills.

Steps

1. Position the motor vertically.
2. Remove the motor cover.
3. Remove the oil filler cap.
4. Place the oil drain pan under the engine to catch the drained oil.
5. Remove the engine oil drain plug and gasket.
6. Allow the engine oil to drain completely.
7. Secure the engine oil drain plug with a new gasket.
8. Remove the port side cover.
9. Loosen and remove the old oil filter by turning it counterclockwise (use a special tool if necessary).
10. Rub a little oil on the O-ring of the new filter.
11. Install the new oil filter.
12. Using a funnel, add the recommended amount of XStar Suzuki marine engine oil.
13. Check the oil level after filling.
14. Wait 2 minutes and check the oil level again.
15. Resecure the oil filler cap.

Tips

• Make sure to have all the necessary tools and materials on hand before starting.
• Use a funnel to prevent spilling when adding new oil.
• Check the oil level twice to ensure proper filling.
