Honda BF50 Oil & Filter Change

Tools Needed

• Large flat-head screwdriver
• 12mm wrench
• Rag
• Oil container or bucket
• Cup
• Needle-nose pliers (optional)

Safety

• Wear gloves to avoid getting oil on your hands.
• Be careful when handling the oil filter and oil pan.

Steps

1. Remove the drain plug located at the back of the motor using a 12mm wrench.
2. Place an oil container or bucket underneath the drain plug.
3. Use a juice bottle as a funnel to catch any overflow while draining the oil.
4. Allow the oil to drain completely into the container.
5. Wipe down the area around the drain hole with a rag.
6. Check for any metal shards or debris in the drained oil; if present, clean them up.
7. Inspect the washer on the drain plug and replace it if necessary.
8. Reinsert the drain plug and tighten it using a 12mm wrench.

Tips

• Use an oil diaper to help absorb any overflow during the draining process.
• Ensure that you use metric tools as Honda motors are all metric.
• When installing the new oil filter, apply some oil or fogging fluid on the backside of the gasket for better sealing.
